Family Solutions Team

They work with families who have children who might need to leave home and go live somewhere else because of relationship or conflict issues.

They try to help quickly, within 24 hours or even on the same day. If they can’t help the family themselves, they will tell them about other groups who can help, like the Multi-Systemic Therapy (MST) team and Strengthening Families Services.

The FST team also helps families when the children are already living somewhere else, like in their own home, with a foster family, or with an adoptive family. They do not help families who have children living in a children’s home or with a foster family who is not part of their group.

The FST team helps families who want their children to come back home. They give advice and help to make it happen.

If the family doesn’t meet the criteria for the MST team, the FST team will help them instead. The FST team also gives advice to groups in the community to help make things better for families.
